Why? I loved the whole campus experience; it was extremely sociable and I made friends for life. The only drawback about living in residence was that I was forced to eat in the cafeteria, which unfortunately served both unhealthy and unappetizing food.

Course recommendations:
Any course with Bill Robson (the former Dean) is a lot of work, but also a great experience. I did both Change Management and Management of Innovation with him, and I wouldn't have missed it for the world! He is an extremely charismatic teacher that will grab your attention and hold it, so no course with Prof. Robson is ever boring. If your home university allows it, you should also take advantage of the "Liberal Arts" philosophy at Bishop's: in fact, Bishop's students all do electives outside their area of study. So for instance, a biology major might do electives in theatre or music or political sciences. For my part, I did two courses in political science and I absolutely loved it!

Personal spending habits:
I'm originally from Oslo, Norway, which was recently awarded the "most expensive city on earth" title by the Economist Intelligence Unit. Hence, for me almost anywhere would be "cheap" in relative terms. And Canada was most definitely cheap in my eyes. The food, the housing, the nightlife... compared to what I would spend in Norway, but also compared to my studies in Toulouse, Bishop's was an extremely cheap experience.

I wish I had known ...
Bishop's was actually my second choice (after McGill) when I applied for my exchange, so I hadn't really looked into it that much before going. However, I was extremely pleasantly surprised and I now know that I had a much better time at Bishop's than I would ever have had in a big city like Montreal.

Everybody loved it, you will too!
