Description:
Göteborg University was launched through private initiative as a college of higher education in 1891; in 1907 it became an independent university college with the same status as the two national universities of Uppsala and Lund. Göteborg University was formally founded in 1954 through the amalgamation of this college with the Medical college, which had been established in 1949.

You can get profit of gothenburg´s location to travel to remote places such as the North Pole, Russia or the Fjords.

*Copenhagen and Stockholm are definitely worth a visit!! It's quite cheap to get there by bus. *Helmuts is really the best residence you can find in Göteborg: best parties, best atmosphere, best location, ...

If u can and your finnancial disposal allows you to do so, visit the whole country ( better in springtime). And enjoy the swedish culture, really fascinating.

Some nice spots to visit: - Göteborg's islands - Lake Vannern - Copenhaguen + Come to Sweden keeping in mind that it is one of the most expensive countries in the world or otherwise one is very surprised!

Travel along the Bohuslän coast - its so beautiful if the weather is nive. Go to the Skärgarden of Göteborg (islands, archipelago) you can go there with your tram ticket... and travel! (Lappland, Finland, Norway, Estonia (TALLINN - very nice!) an...

Be prepared to spend money, cause Nordic countries are much more expensive than ours, and try to travel a bit around.

It will be better if you meet some swedish students... even if it's hard to meet them. Don't forget to travel in Kiruna, Stockholm, Norway...

If you can bring your car, do it! It's really useful to travel but don't try to drive in the city, it's almost impossible (thousands of "NO WAY" signs)

Try to go to Stockholm, Uppsala, Kiruna and Lund. If you have time and money left, you have to go to Norway to see the Fjords and to Kopenhagen. Both places are not very far from Gothenburg.

I had the time of my life, and the abroad experience literally changed my life. I wish I had gotten to know more of the Swedish people and their culture, but i don't complain because I got so many new friends from other countries.
