Why? On campus is the easiest when you're studying. Apartments especially in Paris are even more expensive unless you are lucky.

Course recommendations:
I took the major "Europe" and I was disappointed by the quality of the courses. The teachers were mainly externals, not professors.

Personal spending habits:
Paris is an expensive city to go out, eat and do shopping. The rent at the campus was relatively high. Also mobile phone calls were more expensive than in my home country.
