Description: The Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, also known as the LMU, the Universität München or the University of Munich, was founded in 1472 and is one of the oldest universities in Germany. With approximately 50,000 registered students, it is one of the largest universities in Germany. There are 20 faculties (Fakultäten), organized into 178 academic institutes and clinics. Approximately 51% of the students are registered in the various arts faculties. Just over half of all the matriculated students are women. About 800 full-time professors and 5,800 other academics teach and do research at the LMU.

I would reccomend to everyone to go on an exchange programme abroad. It is a great experiece, will teach you how to be more independant and deal with difficult situations on your own and will definitely boost your CV.

If you are thinking of going then go! If you don't have much money you can always find a hob anywhere - it easy. You will have lots of fun and the grades usually are better than when we are in our own country ;)

I went to Berlin, Innsburg, Salzburg, Prague, there are a lot of pretty close places to go!
Students Hostals are very cheap and most of them are nice and clean.

Munchen is in the midle of Europe and you will have a lot of oppertunity to travel. Wiht in Germany "Schönes Wochenende ticket" is a good way to get around at the weekends.

Munich is a great place to spend a year. The academic system is very well organized and offers great opportunities. The city is beautiful, have many interesting places (in summer lovely "Biergarten" with the best beer in Germany and not only...)....

I really enjoyed my 5 months in Munich. I would stay longer if i could. The location of the city(not far away from other countries) helped me to visit some other european cities too.
