Get a travelcard for a year it is cheaper and try to eat always at home and call to a land line

You need access cards to get in everywhere. If you forgot it at home you will spend 15 minutes getting cleared for access..

Take the chance to travel to European capitals, it´s just one night trip. Go out as much as you can and mingle up with everyone, having fun is also a good way to achieve your objectives.
