Make the most of the mountains and go ski-ing, I would kill to be so close again! Good for visiting in summer too apparently. The grand prix is good in the summer term. Make the most of the time there, it will go quickly, relax and enjoy!

If driving, use Portsmouth-St.Malo. Societe Generale were very helpful and understanding about my lack of finance lingo. Establish a local and get to know the patron: Pau is small and everyone knows everyone and the patron can open lots of doors.

try to pack as light as possible and use an atm card instead of carrying travellers cheques because you get a better exchange.
