I would reccomand to travel all across Scotland, renting a car is cheap and it is the most suitable solution to get to very remote areas.

University of Abertay is very student-friendly univeristy. Dundee itself is a small city but has many lovely places to visit. Worth to live in for a year or two but not more that this. Rather old-people city.

The over-all experience is great however I would suggest you look at another country as an option as getting a job in a field which is not in the countries short skills sector could prove very difficult

Dundee is quite near to famous places in Scoland: Aberdeen, Edinbourgh, Glasgow, Isle of Skye, Inverness (I could not see Nessy, snif, snif...). The weather at there is fine as well.
