Course: Undergraduate ronaldwolf iNote 's
overall rating:

1.8/4
University of origin: Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe Universität, Frankfurt am Main, Germany
Country of nationality: Germany
Area of study: Biology
Program: Independent
Period abroad: September 2004 - June 2005
1 Housing (rent housing in London, United Kingdom) (London, United Kingdom hotel)

Type of housing:
On campus

Arranged by:
Host university

If returning, I would choose:
In North London, definately not in South East Lond
Why? Because it takes 2 hours to arrive in London and two hours to go back. Southeast london is a rundown area and unpleasant. And there are no real shops

Course recommendations:
The whole university is not to be recommended. It is very much below German standards. In England there is a difference concerning the quality of the Universities. Go to a university that is part of the university of london (Greenwich is not) and go for a prestigious university. All of my teachers in biology made mistakes and all of them with the expetion of one only waffled during the 'lecture' hardly giving any real information and that information contained mistakes. In the laboratory the assistants screamed at students regularly and the atmosphere was very unpleasant. After every day I had been at univerisity I felt that I had waisted the day. I had not learned anything and I was unhappy. Overall the level was very low. Social life on campus was fun but it's the same at other campuses (as I have found out). To give you examples of the mistakes: I had to calculate the molar mass and handed in a correct solution. The work was marked wrong and the lecturer actually did not know how to make thecalculations. (Admitted by the head of school) There are 4 different bases in the DNA. According to an arab lecturer of mine there would be 3. Seriously

5 Expenses

Main source of funding:
Family

Other sources of funding:

Work opportunities
I worked during my study abroad experience.
I worked in a private company

Personal spending habits:
Food is incredibly expensive. Eating out is not much more expensive than cooking for yourself. Snacks like sandwiches are 3 pounds and are not great quality, 2 Chicken breast fillets are 13 pounds, There was no telephone provided by the univeristy and I had to use a mobile with a calling card. The bill could be 200 pounds a month. I strongly recommend using the internet (for which access is provided) and a software that allows you to make phone calls to a telephone. A Day travel card cost 5.20 pounds, Nightlife: Entry to a venue is 5-10 pounds

6 Additional information

I wish I had known ...
That the university can not actually be called a univeristy, that its location is remote. That there is a significant difference between the individual univeristies and that the univeristiy rating by the newspaper the Guardian is not off. (it was bad for greenwich)

In my opinion:
Stay home.

Important to choosing this university...
