Why? Because it is generally cheaper and much nicer.

Student life dominates the city

Travel, Activities, Nightlife take/s place mostly outside the university/student environment

Course recommendations:
Aber has probably one of the best IR departments in the world. The lecturers are friendly, accessible and will assist you with most inquiries.

English

My proficiency in the language of instruction:
before: No problems in any areas (including slang)
after: No problems in any areas (including slang)

Learning the language of instruction was not a factor in choosing my host country

Personal spending habits:
Britain is fairly expensive but in comparison to Sweden its not all that bad.

I wish I had known ...
Hmm... Try to find out as much about the university as possible beforehand. It will ease your transition into University life considerably.
